The University of Georgia will hold its annual lettermen’s flag football game prior to the G-Day spring game on Saturday, April 13 at Dooley Field at Sanford Stadium. Nearly 50 Georgia football letterwinners from six different decades are expected to participate in the game, which begins at 10:45 a.m. prior to the G-Day kickoff at 1 p.m.
Three former Bulldogs will serve as coaches: Jeffrey Thomas, who lettered at wide receiver from 1991-94, Calvin Ruff, who lettered at defensive line from 1983-86, and Demetrius Douglas, who lettered at linebacker from 1986-89. Three-year letterman Bobby Poss (1969-71) and 1971 letterman Johnny Cobb will serve as the public address announcers during the game.
Brett Millican, who lettered at running back from 1997-00, and Tra Battle, who lettered at safety from 2003-06, will serve as the captains for the contest.
Kickoff for this year’s G-Day is set for 1 p.m. and will stream live on SEC Network+, with Jay Alter, Aaron Murrray, and Taylor Davis on the call. Tickets cost $5, with Sanford Stadium gates closing at 10:30 a.m.
