Wilkesboro native Alex Key will bring his country music tones to the streets of downtown Hayesville on Friday, August. 5.

Raised on country music artists like George Strait, Alan Jackson and Randy Travis, it's no surprise that Key's sound is reminiscent of the country music of the 90s, which caused an explosion in country music fandom.

Key's first album "Barstools and Saddles," received rave reviews by fans and critics and has hit the top 40 on iTunes.

The success of his album has led to Key being nominated in the following categories at the Josie Music Awards.

"Entertainer of the Year"

"Artist of the Year"

" Song of the Year"

"Single of the Year"

"Video of the Year"

Key will liven up the streets of Hayesville's square at 7 p.m. Music lovers are encouraged to bring chairs or blankets to take in the performance.
