All - Hayseville final in youth volleyball tournament

On Saturday, Oct. 1, Hayesville hosted the tournament for the Smoky Mountain Conference youth volleyball league. A total of nine teams competed in the league this year, but at the end of the day, Hayesville's program stood tall.
Following a day of bracket play, both of Hayesville's squads found themselves facing off with a Robbinsville team for a spot in the finals. The gold team defeated Robbinsville's black team and Hayesville's black team sent Robbinsville's white team to the third place match.
Robbinsville white won the third place match, but Hayesville presented all Robbinsville players with third place medals. "They are really one team." said tournament coordinator Tammy Dills. "They will play together one day."
It was then time for for the championship match between Hayesville's two teams. It was a well-played, intense, three-set match that eventually saw Hayesville black take the win.
Dills also bragged on the volleyball players from Hayesville High School who gave up their Saturday to volunteer for the tournament. "Underneath their uniforms are unselfish, hardworking, humble, supportive and dedicated teenage females. They all arrived around 8 a.m. and stayed until after 4 p.m. and not once did I hear complaining. Even others noticed this behavior."
From the volunteer high school players to the talented youth league athletes, all involved re-enforced confidence in Hayesville's volleyball program.
