Annual Republican Picnic To Be Held This Weekend

The Clay County Republican Party will host its Annual Fall Picnic and Candidate Rally on Saturday, September 16th, at 12:00 Noon, at the Lions Club Pavilion on Lake Chatuge in the Clay County Recreation Park off Myers Chapel Road.

The event will feature appearances by both 11th District Congressional Representative Chuck Edwards and his 2024 Primary Challenger Christian Reagan. Attendees will get a "preview" of the Congressional Candidates Debate hosted by the Clay County GOP on January 13, 2024, at the Brasstown Community Center.

For the Picnic, the Clay GOP will provide hamburgers and hotdogs with all the fixins' (attendees are encouraged to bring side dishes, snacks, and desserts to share). Food will be served around 1:00 PM, followed by candidates' remarks at 2:00 PM. Once again, we'll have a "Silent Auction" with merchandise and services donated by local business for attendees to bid on. All proceeds go to support our new HQ and activities of the Clay GOP in the upcoming election (so please bring your checkbook and bid early and often!).

Other Republican office holders such as NC House Rep. Karl Gillespie, and local officials such as County Commissioners and others are expected.
