Atlanta Takes Down Orlando in Five-Set Thriller



The Atlanta Vibe (4-1) took down the Orlando Valkyries (1-2) in another five-set nail-biter in the Pro Volleyball Federation’s first rematch of the inaugural season.

 

In her second start of the season, outside hitter Leketor Member-Meneh notched a double-double with 20 kills (.326 hitting percentage) and 10 digs, tying outside hitter Leah Edmond’s 20 kills. Middle blocker Regan Pittman and setter Marlie Monserez both started and saw season-best performances, with Pittman putting up six blocks, seven kills and an ace, and Monserez dishing out 47 assists.

  • Atlanta’s record against Orlando improves to 2-0 this season.

  • The Vibe are now 6-0 in sets decided by two points.

  • Leketor Member-Meneh picked up 20 kills in Monday night’s match, more than she tallied in the first three matches. Her previous high was 13 kills against Grand Rapids (2/9) in her first start of the season.

  • Marlie Monserez had 47 assists in her first start of the season, tacking on three kills and a block.

  • Leah Edmond saw her fourth 20-point match of the season, putting up 25 points off 20 kills, four blocks and an ace).
