Balanced attack leads Mountain Lions past Warriors 85-58

A balanced attack by the Young Harris College men's basketball team helped lead the Mountain Lions past Southern Wesleyan University 85-58 Wednesday (Dec. 14) evening at the Harp Recreation & Commencement Center.
The Mountain Lions improved to 9-0 on the season, while the Warriors fell to 2-9. YHC plays its final game prior to the holidays Saturday (Dec. 17) when they travel to Mars Hill, North Carolina, for a 2 p.m. contest against Mars Hill University.

The Mountain Lions had four players finish in double figures. Lenny Pradia led the way with 16 points, while Josh Petteno closely followed with 15 more. Turahn Thompson tallied 13 points and Kennedy Willis added a career-high 10 points.
Young Harris never trailed in the game as they jumped out to a quick 5-0 lead and never looked back.
The Mountain Lions led by 20 points at the half (41-21) and led by as many as 27 points (85-58).
YHC shot 50.8 percent (31-of-61) from the field,, including 55.2 percent (16-of-29) in the second half.
YHC outrebounded SWU 43-34.
Despite not scoring in the game, Karl Chavis nearly had a double double as he grabbed 10 rebounds and dished out eight assists.
Young Harris, which is joining Conference Carolinas next fall, is currently 5-0 against schools in the league this season.
