Blairsville Cruisers brave damp and cool weather for Cruise-In

On Saturday, May 7,the Union County Farmers Market hosted a cruise-in with classics, hot rods, customs, antique and specialty vehicles on display. A total of 35 registered vehicles participated. The show was enjoyed by club members and spectators despite the unfavorable weather conditions.

Raffle car tickets sales were brisk with many folks anxious to get their tickets early. The primary fund raiser for the car club is the annual raffle car giveaway. All funds collected go to help local children and their families. This year a very nice 1999 Z-28 Camaro convertible will be given away. Donation tickets are just $10 each and your donation is tax deductible. The drawing for the car will be held at the 5th Annual Salute to Veterans Car Show held Nov 5th . Tickets are also available at United Community Bank Blairsville, Pinnacle Bank Blairsville and in Hayesville at the Jackie Jones Jeep, Ram, Chrysler, Dodge dealership.

Best Ford: Andrew Collins, 1939 Ford Coupe.

Club Choice: April and Eddie Martin, 1969 Camaro.

50/50 drawing: Robert Donaldson, who donated more than half of his winnings to the needy children’s Christmas fund.
