The No. 22-ranked Georgia men's golf team sits in fourth place following Sunday’s first round at The Calusa Cup, played at the Calusa Pines Golf Club. Graduate Ben Van Wyk, tied for second, currently paces the Bulldogs on the player leaderboard.
Georgia finished the day with a three-over par, 291. Florida maintained control of first place, shooting five-under par through 18-holes. The Bulldogs were led by Van Wyk, who carded a three-under 69.
All five Bulldog golfers found themselves in the top 25 through the first five holes of play, with Georgia sitting atop the team leaderboard at the halfway point on Sunday.
Entering the second round, Van Wyk trails Wake Forest’s Scotty Kennon by only two strokes.
Georgia will return for round two of The Calusa Cup on Tuesday, April 8, with the team set to tee off at 1:30 p.m. ET.
