Chavis, Pradia leads Young Harris past Lander 73-68

Karl Chavis and Lenny Pradia combined for 37 points as Young Harris College pulled past Lander University 73-68 in a Peach Belt Conference men's basketball contest Wednesday (Feb. 1) evening at the Harp Recreation & Commencement Center.
The Mountain Lions improved to 16-4 overall and to 7-4 in the Peach Belt, while the Bearcats slipped to 15-6 and 7-4. YHC remains at home Saturday (Feb..4) as they host Clayton State University in a 3:30 p.m. PBC contest.
INSIDE THE BOXSCORE:
Chavis scored 19 points on 7-of-10 shooting from the field. He also grabbed five rebounds.
Pradia scored 11 of his 18 points in the second half. He also grabbed seven rebounds.
Josh Petteno added 12 points and pulled down five rebounds. He also had two blocks and two steals.
Nate Dunlop added nine points, while Eden Davis tallied seven rebounds and dished out six assists.
YHC outrebounded Lander 41-31 on the glass.
The Mountain Lions were on fire from long distance in the opening 20 minutes as they sank 9-of-14 three pointers (64.3 percent) and took a 43-34 lead at the half.
Lander rallied to take a two-point lead - its largest of the game - at 61-59 with 5:30 remaining.
Young Harris took the lead for good at 65-64 on two Petteno free throws with 2:18 to play.
YHC took a 69-66 lead on a layup from Pradia with just under a minute to play.
After Lander got within a point (69-68) on its next possession, Pradia added a pull-up jump shot wit 13 seconds to go to give the Mountain Lions a 71-68 lead.
Davis stole the ball on the Bearcats' next possession and found Chavis, who dunked the ball to seal the win.
