- Press Release
Clay County Republicans Announce Meeting Date

The Clay County Republican Party will host its regular monthly meeting on Thursday, April 20th, in the upstairs meeting room at the Clay County Community Services Building. PLEASE NOTE this is a new meeting location, as Clay County Government has apparently moved all civic group meetings out of the Senior Center to the Community Services Building (this is the same building down below the Post Office and Moss Memorial Library where early voting was held last year).
There will be light refreshments, snacks, and desserts served at 6:30 PM (attendees are encouraged to bring a covered dish, snack, or dessert to share), followed by the business meeting at 7:00 PM.
Open to all Republicans and unaffiliated voters, the guest speaker will be Sheriff Mark Buchanan, who will report on the status of the Sheriff's Office since he was sworn in as our new Sheriff in December, 2022.
NEW "MEMBERS FORUM"
From time to time, our GOP members have spoken during meetings or expressed an interest in speaking to the group on various topics pertinent to the GOP, local, state, or national government issues, or other political topics. To give our members an regular opportunity to speak at each meeting, the Executive Committee has voted to establish a "Members Forum" to give registered GOP Members an opportunity to speak at each meeting, subject to the following initial Rules: (1) There will be a sign-up sheet for registered Clay County Republicans wishing to speak at the meeting - you must sign-up before the meeting to be recognized to speak during the Forum; (2) The first five (5) GOP Members to sign up will be granted TWO (2) minutes each to speak during the Forum; (3) Comments must be respectful, in good taste, and no personal attacks on any GOP member or elected official will be allowed - comments on policy or official actions taken are in order, but personal attacks are not.
Please join us in the new location for our monthly meetings. We will be in the upstairs meeting room of the Community Services Building, and parking is plentiful on the upper side of the building. The Clay County Community Services Building is located at 25 Riverside Circle, Hayesville, NC 28904. For additional information, call Barbara Deas at 678-644-5561.

*** NEW CLAY COUNTY GOP HEADQUARTERS ***
The new location for the Clay County GOP Headquarters is in the Creekside Plaza shopping center on Highway 69, between Anejo’s Mexican Restaurant and The Hayesville Grill (in the old Computer Connection storefront). Creekside Plaza was a very successful location for us during the 2020 election cycle, so it was important to be back in such a high-traffic location for this all-important 2024 election cycle.
Brenda Lovett has been named as the Headquarters Manager for this election cycle, with a co-manager to be announced at a later date.
To secure this prime location for the 2024 election cycle, we had to commit to the location now, while it was available. We appreciate all donations to help defray the cost of the rent, and we will be looking for volunteers to staff the office starting sometime in the summer.
We are working on getting the office ready, so watch for the sign to go up, and more information will be coming in future newsletters.
