On Thursday, May 16, the Clay County Republican Party hosted a picnic in honor of area Officers during National Police Week. Officers from the Clay County Sheriff’s Office, N.C. Highway Patrol, and their families were in attendance.
All law enforcement Officers assigned to Clay County were recognized and gifted with custom made Challenge Coins. Agencies recognized were the Clay County Sheriff’s Office, the N.C. Highway Patrol, the N.C. Wildlife Service, and the U.S. Forest Service.
During this event, U.S. Congressman Chuck Edwards’ Field Representative, Lake Silvers, was also present. Silvers presented Clay County Special Operations Corporal Will Suggs and Clay County DEA Task Force Lieutenant Tyler Faggard with Congressional Records of appreciation that were read on the floor of the Second Session of the 118th Congress of the United States.
These Congressional Records are retained forever and stand as a testament to the outstanding work Corporal Suggs and Lieutenant Faggard have done while working with the Clay County Sheriff’s Office.
