Cleveland named to the PBC Team of Academic Distinction

Carl Clevelandfrom Young Harris College have been named to the Peach Belt Conference Team of Academic Distinction for men's basketball.
The team is part of a season-long program recognizing the outstanding accomplishments of PBC student-athletes in the classroom as well as on the field. To be eligible for the team, a student-athlete must participate in at least half of his team's events and be either a starter or significant contributor; achieved a 3.30 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) and completed at least one full academic year at his or her current institution and has reached sophomore athletic eligibility.

Cleveland is forward from Commerce, Georgia.
Cleveland has a 3.46 cumulative grade-point average as an elementary education major.
Cleveland was named the league's Player of the Week once this season (Jan. 3).
Cleveland led the Mountain Lions in scoring (15.6), rebounding (7.4), minutes played (32.4), field goals (140), and rebounds (185), and second in free throws made (72). He was third on the team in three-pointers (39), steals (18) and blocked shots (10).
Cleveland ranked sixth in the Peach Belt in rebounding and field goal percentage (.491, 140-of-285), seventh in scoring and 10th in free throw percentage (.699, 72-of-103).
