An Andrews, North Carolina woman named Rachel Long, age 37, was killed in a head-on collision in Hiawassee, Georgia Sunday, March 10th around 9 p.m.

The crash occurred when Jimmy Reece Reger, a 23 year old man from Jasper, Georgia, attempted to pass another vehicle on a double yellow line.

Reger's Ford Explorer collided with a southbound Ford Maverick, injuring himself, the Maverick's driver, and a 6-year-old child. Long, the front right passenger of the Maverick, died as a result of the collision. The driver and 6-year old were taken to area hospital for treatment of their injuries.
