Curley named Peach Belt Player of the Week for second straight week

AUGUSTA, Ga. | Young Harris College softball's Morgan Curley has been named the Peach Belt Conference Player of the Week ending April 18.

It is the second consecutive week that Curley has won the award.

Curley had another monster week as she hit .600 (6-of-10) with a 1.400 slugging percentage in three wins against Augusta University. The junior catcher from Flatwoods, Kentucky, had six RBI in the three-game set with hits in all three games. She drove in two in the opener, going 1-for-1 with a pair of walks.

Game three was the standout as she went 4-for-4 with a double, two triples and a home run. Her two triples ties the PBC record for triples in a game and is the only one this season. Curley is currently ranked second in the PBC in slugging percentage (.732), third in on-base percentage (.500) and 10th in RBI (35). The Mountain Lions return to action Friday (April 22) with a 5 p.m. PBC game in Greenwood, South Carolina, against Lander University.
