Exciting Finish for Mountain Lions DH vs NGU



After falling short to North Greenville's comeback in game one, Shelby Duncan drives one up the middle to walk-off game two (Mar 19th). Young Harris adds another conference split to the books.


The Mountain Lions move to 14-12 overall and are 2-2 in Conference Carolinas. The Crusaders move to 21-11 overall and are 5-3 in Conference Carolinas. YHC will split the weekend at UNC Pembroke and Francis Marion, playing a double-header at each location (Mar 23rd + 24th).


INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:

Game 1:

· Young Harris falls 5-2 to North Greenville.

· Gracie Hughes (2-3) singled to left field in her first plate appearance of the day for YHC's first run.

· Addie Heal added on as she lined out to center, bringing home Hannah Carey. Young Harris was on top 2-0.

· NGU's Lexie Gunter homered to right center in the seventh, tying the game at two. Then, Karley Green hit a three-run homerun to right center to give the Crusaders' the final push to victory.

· Young Harris only recorded four hits to North Greenville's eight.


Game 2:

· YHC walked off game two, with a final score of 7-6.

· North Greenville got off to a 3-0 lead well into the fourth inning. Ansley Fowler singled to left field for the first RBI. Then, two Crusaders were able to score off YHC errors.

· In the fourth inning, Shelby Duncan (2-4) singled up the middle to put Young Harris on the board.

· Gracie Hughes and Addie Heal (2-3) put the bat on the ball in the fifth to tie the game at three.

· NGU's Emily Blackwell doubled to left for two RBIs in the sixth.

· Hannah Carey cleared the bases with a double to right center. The Mountain Lions were on top 6-5.

· Lexie Gunter tied the game at six with a single to right field to force the bottom of the seventh.

· To walk off the game, Shelby Duncan made contact up the middle to bring home Addie Heal.
