Fort Hembre To Shut Down For Training

Clay County Fire and Rescue will be conducting live fire training in the 400 block of Fort Hembre Rd in Hayesville, NC this Saturday, Jan. 13, 2024. Fort Hembre Rd will be shut down to civilian traffic from US 64 West to just past the training site.


Expect heavy smoke in the area throughout the day. Training will involve CCFR personnel as well as agencies from surrounding counties. The purpose of this training is to hone fire fighters skills related to fire fighting operations, water supply, rescue operations, victim management, communications, and mutual aide operations in a controlled and safe environment.
