Godfrey wins Lady Jacket's volleyball raffle

Over the summer, the Lady Yellow Jacket volleyball squads from Hayesville High School have been hard at work with their annual fundraiser. Each player was given a calendar and sold days which gave a buyer a chance at $500 for each date they bought.

On Tuesday, July 19, head coach Tammy Dills and her teams gathered during an open gym session to draw the lucky winner. With HHS administration on hand, Sam Godfrey was declared the raffle winner. Coach Dills thanked all who participated along with team sponsors.

Money raised through the raffle and sponsorships goes towards equipment for the teams as well as camps. Those camps begin Friday, July 22 when the Lady Jackets travel to the University of Tennessee Chattanooga for a three-day camp.

The season officially gets underway on August 15 when Hayesville welcomes Tuscola to The Hive.
