The Intercollegiate Tennis Association ("ITA") has released the Division II Women's National Singles and Doubles Rankings as well as Regional Singles and Doubles Rankings sponsored by Tennis-Point for November 15, 2023. Young Harris College women's tennis freshman Viviana Gomez is ranked 14th on the list in singles.
National Rankings consist of the Top 50 singles players and Top 25 doubles teams, while Regional Rankings consist of the Top 20 singles players and Top 10 doubles teams from each region. Division II Regional Rankings represent the Atlantic, Central, East, Midwest, South, South Central, Southeast, and West Regions.
Jane Plevako was the last women's tennis player to be ranked nationally, landing 23rd on the ITA list in 2012-13.
"It's always great to see hard work pay off. Vivi had a great fall season, so I'm happy to see her being recognized in the region. With the Spring season coming up, I know she'll continue to work hard and be successful" says head coach Andrew Cobb.
