The University of Georgia gymnastics team kicks off the 2024 postseason this week, competing at the 2024 Florida Regional, April 4-7, held at Exactech Arena at the Stephen C. O'Connell Center.The Florida Regional began on Thursday with the first round featuring Clemson and Iowa State. The Cyclones advanced after beating the Tigers, 195.875-195.625. Round two will be split into two sessions. Session I will include the No. 5 seed Utah, No. 12 seed Michigan State, Towson and Maryland. Session II will feature No. 4 seed and host Florida, No. 13 seed Missouri, and Georgia as well as Iowa State. The GymDogs will start the day on beam and head to floor, vault, and bars. The top two teams from each second-round session will advance to the Regional Final at 5 p.m. on Sunday, April 7. The top two teams from the Regional Final will then advance to NCAA Championships April 18-20 at Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, Texas. In 39 all-time regional appearances, Georgia has won 24 regional championships and finished second 12 times. Georgia last advanced to the NCAA Championship in 2019 through the Athens Regional with a score of 198.050.
