Harris named to all-region second team by NCBWA and D2CCA

Young Harris College's McLain Harris has been named to the NCAA Division II All-Southeast Region second team by both the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association and the Division II Conference Commissioners Association.


McLAIN HARRIS

  • Harris is a senior right-handed pitcher from Griffin, Georgia.

  • Harris was named to the All-Peach Belt Conference first team.

  • In 29 appearances (five starts) this season, Harris has a 2.13 earned-run average with a 10-4 won-loss record to go along with seven saves.

  • The 29 appearances, 10 wins, seven saves and the 2.13 ERA are all single-season program bests for the Mountain Lions.

  • In 93 innings pitched, Harris had allowed just 77 hits, while striking out 65 and walking just nine. He has allowed opponents to hit just .222 in 2022.

  • Harris was named Peach Belt Pitcher of the Week once (5/2).

  • Harris is first in the Peach Belt in saves, and second in wins and ERA.

  • Harris is second in NCAA Division II in walks allowed per nine innings (0.79), third in WHIP (0.91), sixth in strikeout-to-walk ratio (8.00), seventh in wins (10) and appearances (29), 14th in ERA (2.13), and 29th in saves (7).
