Hayesville runners, teams have strong showing at SMC meet

Smoky Mountain Conference cross country teams descended on Byson City Saturday, Oct. 15 for the conference championship meet. The Lady Yellow Jackets from Hayesville High ended the event in second place and the men's team had the podium finish of third.

For the middle school teams, the Yellow Jackets took second and the girl's team came home with a fourth place finish.

"The men and women all ran well," said Hayesville High School coach Zach Moss. "I am proud of the progress we have been making."

There were also other honors handed out at the event.
