Hayesville's Season Ends In Round Two

The Hayesville Yellow Jacket baseball team took to their home field on Friday, May 10 to face the Mountain Heritage Cougars in round two of the NCHSAA tournament. Mountain Heritage jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first inning, forcing the Jackets to play from behind. Hayesville tried to muster a rally in the seventh, but came up short. The Cougars advanced in the tournament with a 6-2 victory.

Kyle Shaheen: 1-3

Jackson Sellers: 1-3

Chance Hughes: run scored

Tate Roberts: run scored, stolen base

Hayesville ends the season with a 16-4 overall record, 12-0 in the Smoky Mountain Conference and the conference champions. With all but 1 player returning next year, 2025 could be another dominant year for Hayesville's varsity baseball program.
