Health Science students hear from medical experts

Students at HHS in Christy Caruso and Amy Trout’s Health Science classes had an educational and informative week with guest speakers.
Ben English a paramedic from Clay County spoke to the classes about emergency response and brought an ambulance for them to observe. The students are currently learning CPR and First Aid and this experience helped give them an insight into the career of EMT’s.
Dr. Sharon Reynolds spoke to health career pathway students about careers in nursing. She informed the students of her educational pathway and answered their questions about the field of nursing.
Clarissa Rogers, Ricky Lancaster, and Jeff Ledford from Clay County Health Department presented the Emergency Services programs and Paramedicine to health science students and talked about the rewarding career of an EMT and the opportunity for students to begin the pathway in high
school.
