HHS volleyball sweeps Hiwassee Dam out of The Hive

On Tuesday, the Lady Eagles from Hiwassee Dam invaded The Hive in Hayesville to take on the Lady Yellow Jackets. It was the second meeting of the season between the two schools, with Hayesville winning the JV and varsity matches in the initial matches.

For the varsity team, it was smooth sailing. Hayesville got off to a great start with an impressive 25-8 win in the first set to go up 1-0 for the match.

Hiwassee Dam was able to be a little more successful in the second set, but never really challenged the Lady Jackets. Hayesville went up 2-0 with a 25-12 set win.

In the third quarter, the Lady Jackets made sure to close out the match with another dominant performance. Hayesville took the set 25-11 to get clinch the 3-0 match victory.

The win stopped a four-match losing streak for the Lady Jackets.

On the JV side of things, the Lady Jackets kept rolling. Hayesville established dominance early and grabbed momentum by downing the Lady Eagles 25-12 in the first set to go up 1-0.

With JV contests being the best of 3, winning the opening set is big in setting the tone for the rest of the match. Hayesville was able to keep control in the second set, winning 25-16 to take the match 2-0.

With the win, the Lady Jackets improve to 10-2 overall and riding the wave of a 9-match winning streak.
