Press Release

Jeremiah Register for the win against Cherokee in the 160 pd weight class. It was one of the hardest wins of the night to get our Hayesville team rolling with a pin. After facing Murphy, he secured another win due to forfeit of opponent. He still continues to go low and finishes high, making him a tough opponent for his weight class.

The Hayesville Middle School Wrestling Yellow Jackets and new head coach Jordon Mincey participated in a Tri-Match vs Murphy and Cherokee on November 10th. They completed 19 out of 26 matches. Resulting in a takeover for The Yellow Jackets between both schools Murphy and Cherokee. Everyone had at least one win under their belt for the night of November 10th. Out of the 19 winning matches, only 6 were won by forfeit.

(Captain) Lawson Bailey, Evan Burks, (Captain) Landon Gibson, Kaden Harbck, Hunter Hill, HaydenLewis, (Captain) Silas Lovingood,(Captain)Robert Manning, Edwin Nava, (Captain) Lakota Patterson, Logan Querns, Ben Register, and Jeremiah Register make up our HMS Wrestling Team.

Landen Gibson finishes off his opponent from Murphy, straight from the half Nelson after an intense match up in the 138 pound weight class in the Cherokee Tri-Match. Landon never gives up no matter any circumstance. Also, he is always pushing his teammates past their limit to get better.

Captain Lakota Patterson dominated both matches. He finishing in quick time with efficient pins vs both Cherokee and Murphy. Dakota is a go-getter; anything he learns during practice will be used in the match and he will execute very well. He is one to watch, I feel he is one of the best in the 195 pound weight class.
