On Tuesday, September 10th, at approximately 1:30 p.m., the Towns County Sheriff's Office responded to a report of an abandoned vehicle in a wooded area near Young Harris College. The vehicle, located at 4545 Thomas Town Road, was connected to a homicide investigation in DeKalb County, GA.
Authorities confirmed that the vehicle, which was unoccupied at the time, had been abandoned between 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. The suspect, identified as 17-year-old Anthony Freeman, is wanted in connection with the murder and the theft of the vehicle. Freeman is described as a black male, approximately 5’3” tall, weighing 130 pounds, with long dreadlocks.
Freeman is considered armed and dangerous. Authorities urge anyone who encounters him to exercise extreme caution and immediately call 911.
In response to the discovery, the Towns County Sheriff's Office, in collaboration with Young Harris College Police, has increased patrols in the Young Harris area to ensure public safety.
Law enforcement officials are asking the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity.
