Lady Jackets eliminated from playoffs

The varsity Lady Yellow Jacket soccer team made the long trek to Walnut Cove on Monday, May 16 to face South Stokes in round one of the NCHSAA state championship tournament. Unfortunately, the first round would end up being the last one for Hayesville as the Lady Jackets fell 9-0.
Although the season ended sooner than desired, coach Amanda Thompson and her team have highlights to celebrate. Hayesville ends the season 4-9 overall and 3-7 in the Smoky Mountain Conference.
A fourth place finish in the SMC and a playoff birth is a strong foundation that the program can build on next season.
