Lady Jackets Eliminated From Post-Season Play

Despite a challenging regular season, the Hayesville High School softball team was awarded a spot in the NCHSAA state championship tournament. In round one, the Lady Jackets travelled to Norwood to face the South Stanley Rowdy Rebel Bulls. Unfortunately, that's where the season ended for Hayesville with a 15-0 loss.

The Lady Jackets end the year with a 1-16 overall record and 1-11 in the Smoky Mountain Conference. Hayesville's lone win came on the road when the Lady Jackets downed Andrews 26-13 on March 14th.

Hayesville will lose Gracelynn Anderson to graduation and her bat as well as solid defense at third base will be missed. However, with the majority of the team returning with a year of experience under their belt as well as talent moving up from middle school, next season could be an exciting one for Hayesville's softball program.
