Lady Jackets honor former player

On Thursday, Oct. 27, Lady Yellow Jacket volleyball players from Hayesville High School honored one of their own in surprise fashion.
While enjoying her lunch break, Clay County Schools employee and former Lady Yellow Jacket Aneka Shook James was paid an unexpected visit from members of this year's squad along with head coach Tammy Dills.
After a few seconds of shock and confusion, Dills filled James in on what was going on. On Oct. 13, the Lady Jackets hosted Andrews for their annual Cancer Awareness Fundraiser game. Unknown to James, a cancer fighter, the donations collected that night were intended for her.
