In what has been a busy week for volleyball, the JV Lady Jackets hosted their third opponent in four days when Franklin came to Hayesville on Thursday, Aug. 18.

Fans who struggle with high blood pressure tested their medicine's limits in the opening set. Hayesville jumped out to an early lead but the Lady Panthers soon caught up. Scoring was back and forth and volleys that started off as routine became edge of your seat viewing. It was the kind of set that either team could have won, however, Franklin managed to get the extended set win, 28-26.

Following the emotional victory in the opening set, the Lady Panthers began the second by hanging 6 points on the board before Hayesville was able to score. Although the Lady Jackets were able to find scoring success, they could never put together enough points to stall Franklin's momentum. The Lady Panthers took the set 25-14 and the match 2-0.

With the loss, the Lady Jackets' record falls to 1-2.

Hayesville will travel to Waynesville on Monday, Aug. 22 to take on Tuscola in a rematch of opening night.
