For the fifth time this season, Lily Smith has been named the Southeastern Conference Gymnastics Freshman of the Week, the league office announced Tuesday.
Smith posted her season-best all-around score with a 39.625 on podium at the Kidney Cares Gymnastics Championship against Maryland, Iowa, Pitt, and Talladega in Nashville. She also posted the highest marks of the meet on bars, beam, and floor, scoring a 9.950 on all three events.
The Limerick, Pennsylvania native is the highest ranked SEC freshman and tenth overall on bars with an NQS of 9.950. She also ranks in the top 25 on floor and all-around.
Smith and the GymDogs are set to compete at the SEC Championship on Saturday, March 23 in New Orleans at the Smoothie King Center. Georgia will face Arkansas, Missouri, and Auburn in the first session, beginning at 2:30 CT. The championship will be broadcast live on the SEC Network.
