Lincoln Memorial rallies for 8-7 win over Mountain Lions

Lincoln Memorial University scored twice in the bottom of the seventh inning as they rallied for an 8-7 non-conference baseball victory over Young Harris College Wednesday (March 22) afternoon.
The Railsplitters improved to 16-9, while the Mountain Lions fell to 19-9.YHC returns to Peach Belt Conference action Friday (March 24) when they travel to Aiken, South Carolina, for a 6 p.m. contest against the University of South Carolina-Aiken.

The Mountain Lions took a 1-0 lead on Jeremy Begora's home run in the second inning. It was his team leading sixth homer of the season.
Begora made it 2-0 on his sacrifice fly to center field in the fourth inning.
The Mountain Lions tied the game at 5 with three runs in the top of the sixth. Begora started the scoring with an RBI single to left before Jayden Carbonell-Smith added a run-scoring double to center field. Ahmir Cournier closed out scoring with a single to center.
Young Harris reclaimed the lead at 7-6 with two runs in the top of the seventh. Begora drove in another run with a single to right before Marco Colina scored on a wild pitch.
Begora, who led the Mountain Lions with 4 RBI, had three of YHC's nine hits. Colina and Carbonell-Smith each had two hits.
Brady Caloway (3-1) took the loss in relief for the Mountain LIons.
