In the first playoff game hosted at The Harp and Recreation Center in program history, the Mountain Lions advance in the Conference Carolina tournament following a win over the Converse University Valkyries (Mar 4th). YHC beat Converse with a final score of 71-59.
The Mountain Lions will head to Spartanburg, S.C. on March 8th for the next round of the conference tournament. They will face the Belmont Abbey Crusaders in an 8:30PM tipoff.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
· Young Harris was a high-energy and hot team to start the game. They jumped out to a 19-13 lead at the end of the first quarter.
· Crystal Corley was an impact player tonight, with 23 points and 18 rebounds. On top of another double-double, Corley nailed 11-15 of her free throws.
· Dustie Obah ended with the night with 18 points. She was 4-10 from beyond the arc and made these baskets in big moments.
· Kamryn Bates and Trinity Edwards also finished with double digit points, 10 and 12 respectively.
· The Mountain Lions outrebounded the Valkyries on the offensive and defensive side of the ball.
· Three Converse players found themselves in early foul trouble, ultimately fouling out.
