Mountain Lions Drop Home Game to Emmanuel Lions

Young Harris, GA| The Emmanuel Lions came to the Harp Recreation and Commencement Center on Wednesday (Feb. 21) night, riding high at 21-5 overall this season. The Mountain Lions got the game within five by halftime, and kept it close throughout most of the second half; as the game went on, Emmanuel University took over, led by Kelvin Jones, on their way to a 79-71 victory over Young Harris College.

The Mountain Lions fell to 15-11 overall and 9-7 in Conference Carolinas play. Emmanuel improves to 22-5 overall and 14-2 in conference play. YHC returns to action on Saturday (Feb. 24) afternoon against Barton College for a senior day matchup in Young Harris, Georgia. 


  • Kelvin Jones scored 27 points for Emmanuel, recording seven rebounds to boot. 

  • Both Karl Chavis and Carl Cleveland scored 19 points for YHC, with Cleveland also gathering nine rebounds. 

  • Kolbe Ashe scored 10 points and tallied a team-high six assists for the Mountain Lions. 

  • Emmanuel outshot and outrebounded Young Harris.
