Mountain Lions drop two against No. 10 Blazers

YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. | The Young Harris College softball team dropped two games against No. 10 Valdosta State University Saturday (April 30) afternoon at the YHC Softball Field.
YHC lost game one 4-1, and game two 7-3.
Young Harris fell to 22-20, while Valdosta State improved to 33-9. The Mountain Lions return to action Friday (May 6) in the first round of the Peach Belt Conference Tournament in Greenwood, South Carolina.
INSIDE THE BOXSCORE:
GAME 1
Young Harris totaled three hits. Amber Divine led with two and Trinity Aycock had one.
Valdosta State got ahead 3-0 in the first inning. The Blazers added another run in the fourth to take a 4-0 lead.
The Mountain Lions added its lone run of the game in the sixth off a Aycock single to right field.
Kylie Ferguson (9-7) took the loss for YHC. Ferguson held the Blazers offense to six hits, two earned runs, and struck out five.
GAME 2
Valdosta State scored two in the first.
Divine and Aycock hit back-to-back singles and Ashley Autuori drove in two with a homer to center field - her eighth of the season - to give YHC a 3-2 advantage.
The Blazers added two runs in the fifth and three in the sixth to earn the victory.
Young Harris totaled seven hits. Aycock led with two, while Divine, Autuori, Grace Young, Shea Bayreuther, and Erin Chambliss each had one.
Brookelyn Sweeney (2-2) recorded the loss for YHC.
