Young Harris battled hard in Friday (Mar. 8) afternoon's game versus the University of Montevallo. The Falcons quickly jumped out to a 6-1 lead over the Mountain Lions, but YHC battled back and pulled it within five at halftime. In the third period, the Mountain Lions scored two quick goals and brought the game within three goals. The Falcons pulled away slightly in the fourth period and claimed a 15-9 victory over a resilient Mountain Lions team.
YHC falls to 2-4 overall this season, while the University of Montevallo improved to 4-3 overall. The Mountain Lions return to action on Tuesday (Mar. 12) at 5 p.m., where they take on Shorter University at the YHC Soccer and Lacrosse Field in Young Harris, GA.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
Tommy Chriszt and Colburn Connelly each scored two goals for YHC.
Trevayne Hunter and Matthew Boas led the UM Falcons with four goals each.
Dylan Wilbur recorded 10 saves for the Mountain Lions and Alex Egorshin saved 14 YHC shots for the Falcons.
The Mountain Lions were even in almost every stat, except for faceoffs, where they won just five of 27.
