Mountain Lions Pounce on Hawks, Sweeping the Series

Young Harris continues to make their case as a top team in the conference, especially after a series sweep over Chowan University. On Sunday, March 17th, the Mountain Lions won game three with a final score of 5-4 over the Hawks..


The Mountain Lions move to 21-5 overall and are 9-3 in Conference Carolinas. The Hawks move to 6-20 overall and are 2-10 in Conference Carolinas. YHC will hit the road this Tuesday (Mar 19th) for a single-game against the Carson-Newman Eagles. First pitch is scheduled for 3PM in Jefferson City, TN.


INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:

· Tyler West and Jackson Dunlap knocked in two runs for the Hawks to kick off the first inning.

· James Basham (3-5) singled to right field in the second to bring in YHC's first run.

· The third inning was a big one for the Mountain Lions. Ethan Stamps (1-3) hit an RBI double to right center and Steven Spell scored on a wild pitch. Jace Wilson (1-2) successfully laid down a sacrifice bunt to add another. Lastly, James Basham singled to center for Young Harris' fourth run of the inning. YHC was up 5-2.

· Chowan battled in the fifth but ultimately fell short. Geomar Santana and Ryan Bellamy had RBIs to bring the score to 4-5.

· Zach Hart picks up his fifth win of the year after five IP and seven K's. Dylan Beck adds save number five to his resume for the season, recording three K's today.
