The Young Harris College women's lacrosse team faced off against the Converse University Valkyries on Monday (Apr. 22) evening at the YHC Soccer and Lacrosse Field in Young Harris, Georgia. The Mountain Lions performance was utter domination of the Valkyries from start to finish, with a running clock being enforced from the second period and onward, with the final score being 20-9 in favor of Young Harris.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
Two Mountain Lions ended the contest with six points: Ashlyn Fraley netted three goals and added three assists, while Belle Hardwick scored four goals and recorded two assists.
Ella Hancock, Ruthie Mandell, and Kinsley Purser ended the game with five points apiece for Young Harris College, with the latter scoring five goals.
Becky Reinhard led Converse with four points, with all four of them being goals.
YHC used all three goalies, with Alyssa Rosenfeld getting the start and giving up three goals, while recording a save; McKenna Graf followed her, saving five shots on goal, and surrendering five goals. Abbie Gallagher finished the game, allowing one goal.
The Mountain Lions outshot the Valkyries 34-19, with 28 SOG to 15 SOG.
UP NEXT:With the victory, the Mountain Lions will head to Mount Olive, North Carolina to play in the Conference Carolinas Semifinals on Thursday (Apr. 25), with the opponent yet to be determined.
