Mountain Lions slam Dragons 19-6

Three different Young Harris College baseball players hit a grand slam as the Mountain Lions defeated Lane College 19-6 in seven innings Wednesday (March 15) afternoon at Zell B. Miller Field.
The Mountain Lions improved to 17-7, while the Dragons fell to 6-17. Young Harris returns to action Friday (March 17) with a 6 p.m. Peach Belt Conference contest against Flagler College in St. Augustine, Florida.
INSIDE THE BOXSCORE:
The Mountain Lions tied an NCAA Division II record for grand slams in a contest with three. The record is held by Salem University (2018) and Armstrong State University (2007).
Jeremy Begora smacked the first grand slam with a first inning shot to left-center field. It was his fourth long ball of 2023.
Jackson Kemp followed with a grand slam to left field in the third. It was Kemp's fourth homer of the season.
The final grand slam came in the fifth as Rome Wallace connected with a shot to left. It was Wallace's third of the campaign.
Begora led the Mountain Lions with six RBI, while Kemp drove in five and Wallace four.
YHC collected 13 hits as Ahmir Cournier, Ethan Underwood, Kemp, Begora, and Dawson Barnes had two hits each.
Colby Williams (1-0) earned the win.
