Mountain Lions Taken Down by Emmanuel University

Young Harris traveled to take on the Emmanuel Lions on Wednesday (Jan. 10) night at the Shaw Athletic Center in Franklin Springs, GA. The Mountain Lions struggled in the first half offensively, but bounced back in the second half, scoring 45 points; when the game ended, it was Emmanuel taking this one, 79-68.

The Mountain Lions move on to 8-7 overall and 3-3 in Conference Carolinas matchups. Emmanuel continues their impressive season, improving to 13-4 overall and 5-1 in Conference Carolinas play. The Mountain Lions return to action on Saturday (Jan. 14) at The Harp Recreation and Commencement Center at 4 PM in Young Harris, GA.


  • Carl Cleveland scored 18 points for YHC and grabbed seven rebounds.

  • Kelvin Jones posted 23 points, eight assists, and six rebounds for Emmanuel.

  • Karl Chavis scored 16 points, shooting 8-11 from the free throw line.

  • The Lions outshot the Mountain Lions from beyond the arc, 41.2% to 18.8% respectively.

  • Young Harris lost the turnover battle, giving up the ball 12 times to the Lions eight.
