Mountain Lions Taken Down by Hawks, 52-71

The Chowan Hawks got out to an early 9-0 lead and put the Mountain Lions on their heels. YHC struggled to get things going and could not keep up with the Hawks' high-scoring offense, resulting in a tough 52-71 loss (Jan 20).

The Mountain Lions move to 7-11 overall and are 3-5 in Conference Carolinas, while the Hawks move to 7-6 overall and are 7-2 in Conference Carolinas. YHC returns home against the Crusaders of North Greenville University this Wednesday (Jan 24), at 6:30pm.


Kamryn Bates set a personal season-high for points with 19. Bates had excellent numbers today, shooting 7-11 from FG and 3-4 from 3PT.

• Young Harris shot 28% from the field to Chowan University's 42%.

• All five Hawks starters recorded double-digit points in this afternoon's game.
