Mountain Lions takes 6-4 win over Flames

The Young Harris College baseball team wrapped up their regular season with a 6-4 non-conference victory over Lee University Tuesday (April 25) afternoon at Zell B. Miller Field.
The Mountain Lions improved to 34-14, while the Flames fell to 25-21. Young Harris will now wait for the Peach Belt Conference Tournament brackets to be released Sunday (April 30) evening. The PBC Tournament gets underway May 5.
INSIDE THE BOXSCORE:
The Mountain Lions honored their eight seniors - Dawson Barnes, James Basham, Dylan Beck, Michael Buice, Nate Lamb, Steven Spell, Ethan Underwood and Rome Wallace - prior to the game.
YHC took a 2-1 lead in the second on Barnes' first homer of the season - a two-run blast to left field.
The Mountain Lions added three runs in the fifth to open up a 5-1 lead. Underwood led off with a double to right-center field and came home on Spell's single through the left side. Marco Colina added a two-run homer - his seventh of the season - to left-center field.
YHC added another run in the sixth on a RBI double down the left field line from Basham.
Lee got three runs back in the top of the seventh to pull within two runs at 6-4, but Lamb pitched 2.1 scoreless innings of scoreless relief to earn his first save.
Ryan Cross (5-2) earned the win.
YHC had 11 hits, with Basham recording three of them. Spell and Colina had two hits apiece.
