Mountain Lions to face No. 8 Columbus State Friday at PBC Tournament

The Peach Belt Conference has announced the schedule for this week's PBC Baseball Tournament double-elimination bracket.


The three-day tournament will be played at Burger King Stadium at Ragsdale Field on the campus of top seed Columbus State University.


Young Harris College (35-17), which is the No. 4 seed, will face Columbus State (40-9), which is ranked eighth nationally in the latest Collegiate Baseball poll, at 3 p.m. Friday (May 13). CSU took two of three from the Mountain Lions when the teams met in Columbus back in late March.


The other semifinal game at 7 p.m. will have No. 3 seed Georgia Southwestern State University (27-25) facing No. 2 seed Georgia College (32-18). The winners from Friday's (May 13) contests will play at 11 a.m. Saturday (May 14), while the losers will play at 3 p.m. A second elimination game will follow at 7 p.m. The championship game is set for 11 a.m. Sunday (May 15). The winner of the double-elimination bracket will earn the league's automatic berth to the NCAA Division II Tournament.


Tickets are $10 per person per day and must be purchased online at https://peachbeltconference.org/sports/2020/10/14/tickets.aspx. No cash will be accepted. PBC students will be admitted to the game free with a valid college ID along with children under the age of five.

Other information regarding the tournament: PARKING Please reference the map of Columbus State University; Fans are asked to use Lots 3, 5 & 7 as well as the lot behind the Cunningham Center.

PETS All pets must remain on a leash at Burger King Stadium at all times. Owners are responsible for pets and undertake all responsibilities and liabilities. Columbus State holds the right to ask an owner to remove a pet immediately.
