YOUNG HARRIS, GA| The Mountain Lions continue to dominate as their season gets into full swing (Feb 14th). YHC won both games of the double-header against Mars Hill University this afternoon, 5-2 in Game 1 and 6-2 in Game 2.
The Mountain Lions advance to 9-2 overall and the Lions move to 4-4. YHC will head to Greenwood, SC to compete in the Bearcat Fleet Tournament this weekend. First pitches are scheduled for 12PM and 2PM (Feb 16th) and 12PM and 4PM (Feb 17th).
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
Game 1
Young Harris won Game 1 with a score of 5-2.
Mars Hill loaded the bases and walked a run home in the bottom of the 1st.
To start the 2nd, Bailee Brown singled to third base for an RBI, in addition to Grace Young having a SAC fly. Gracie Hughes singled down the LF line for the Mountain Lions' third run.
Leah Grimes was hit by a pitch in the 5th which scored the Lions' final run of the day.
Bailee Brown finished 2-3 at the plate with three RBIs.
Kylie Ferguson and Gracie Hughes took the mound for YHC and totaled seven strikeouts.
Game 2
Young Harris won Game 2 with a score of 6-2.
Gracie Hughes put one over the fence in CF in the 2nd, putting YHC up 1-0.
Farley Park responded to that with a HR herself in the 3rd, knocking in two for MHU. She was 2-3 at the plate with both of the Lion's RBIs.
Shelby Duncan and Morgan Johnson contributed to the 4th, each with an RBI.
Hannah Carey and Addie Heal stretched the lead in the 6th. Carey singled up the middle for an RBI and Heal grounded out to score her.
Avery Fielden was 3-3 on plate appearances this afternoon.
