The Murphy High School softball team proved their regular-season prowess translates seamlessly to the postseason, cruising to a 7-3 victory over the Bethany Community Wolves in the second round of the NCHSAA playoffs on Friday.

The win extended the Lady Bulldogs’ winning streak to five games, showcasing their talent up and down the lineup.

Murphy, now 15-7, controlled the game with a high-powered offense and by stifling a Bethany Community squad that entered with a six-game winning streak. The Wolves, who fell to 13-7, struggled to match the Lady Bulldogs’ offensive firepower and defensive grit.

With the victory, Murphy advances to the next round of the playoffs, carrying momentum and confidence as they aim to keep their postseason run alive. They will play the winner of Starmount and Uwaharrie Charter School.
