Non-resident arrested on drug charges at senior living facility

Towns County Sheriff’s Office Drug Investigators received information about drug activity at Brasstown Manor Senior Living Center in the City of Hiawassee.

A two-week investigation revealed that a tenant’s family member had established residency in the tenant’s room and appeared to have set up drug operations.

Towns County Sheriff’s Drug Investigators and K-9 deputies raided the room and uncovered a significant amount of drugs. The following drugs were confiscated, and field tested.

• Approximately 1.3 pounds of Marijuana • 19 grams of Mushrooms • Over one ounce of THC wax • Drug-related objects

Charles Willis Beneway, III, age 62, Ramrod Key FL was arrested and charged with:

• Felony Possession of Marijuana • Felony Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Distribute • Felony Possession of THC wax • Felony Possession of THC wax with Intent to Distribute • Felony Possession of a Controlled Subject Schedule Mushrooms) • Possession of a Firearm during the Commission of a Felony • Misdemeanor Possession of Drug Related Objects
