A recent poll from the Atlanta Journal-Constitution (AJC) reveals a significant gender gap in the upcoming presidential election, with most men in Georgia expressing little support for Vice President Kamala Harris. The survey, conducted by the University of Georgia School of Public and International Affairs Survey Research Center, shows that just 28% of men in the state back Harris, while 59% favor former President Donald Trump.
This stark gender divide plays a crucial role in Trump’s current 47% to 43% lead over Harris among Georgia’s likely voters, according to the poll. Harris' low job approval rating among men — only 29% approve of her performance, while 59% disapprove — underscores the challenge her campaign faces in gaining traction with male voters in the state.
The AJC quipped that the level of support among men for Harris is so minimal that a "Dudes for Harris" club could likely fit in a phone booth — if any still existed in Georgia.
The poll also highlights Harris' struggle with white voters, with her numbers nearly mirroring those with men. Trump commands 66% of white voter support, compared to just 28% for Harris. Among Black voters, who have traditionally been a core Democratic constituency, an increasing number are reportedly undecided, signaling potential vulnerabilities for Harris.
Age is another dividing factor in the race. Trump leads among all age groups except for voters aged 30 to 44, where Harris holds a 10-point advantage. However, Trump is ahead by 8 points with voters aged 18 to 29, by 10 points among those aged 45 to 64, and by 2 points with senior citizens.
These polling results come as the race continues to evolve, with Harris facing an uphill battle to consolidate support among key demographics, particularly in Georgia, a battleground state.Poll: Majority of Georgia Men Unlikely to Vote for Kamala Harris, Favor Trump by Large Margin
