Young Harris, GA| The Mountain Lions took on the Lions from Emmanuel University on Wednesday (Feb. 21) evening at the Harp Recreation and Commencement Center. YHC fell behind big in the 1st quarter, surrendering 23 points and scoring 10; the Mountain Lions tried to bring it back, outscoring the Lions in the 2nd quarter, but could not do so in the 3rd or 4th quarter. The final score was 61-49, with the Mountain Lions playing catch-up ball for most of the game.
Young Harris fell to an even 13-13 overall and 9-7 in Conference Carolinas, while Emmanuel improved to 16-8 overall and 12-4 in the conference. YHC returns to action on Saturday for a senior day match against Barton College in Young Harris at 2 p.m.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
Sydney Wyatt scored 24 points and gathered 11 rebounds for a Lions double double.
Young Harris was led once again by Crystal Corley, who scored 17 points and recorded 15 rebounds.
Trinity Edwards scored 10 points, shooting a perfect 4-4 from the charity stripe.
Young Harris scored 26 points in the paint, but Emmanuel made eight three-pointers, while the Mountain Lions went 0-10 from beyond the arc.
