Roberts Helps Push Hayesville To Jaw-Dropping Win



On Wednesday, March 27 the varsity baseball team from Hayesville High School made the journey to Hiwassee Dam to take on the Eagles. After an uneventful start to the game, the Yellow Jackets blew the game open to earn a 22-0, run-rule win.


The first three innings of the game was a pitching dual as neither team managed to manufacture a run. In the top of the fourth Hayesville broke through in a big way, with 7 runs. After blanking the Eagles in the bottom of the inning, the Jackets returned to the plate in the top of the fifth and exploded for 15 runs, which propelled them to victory.

Tate Roberts: 3-4, double, 3 RBI, 3 runs scored

Chance Hughes: 2-2, 2 RBI, 2 runs scored

Dawson Devane: 1-2, 2 RBI, 2 runs scored, 2 stolen bases

Kyle Shaheen: 4 innings pitched, 0 earned runs, 4 strikeouts, 1 walk

Cade Caruso: 1 inning pitched, 0 earned runs, 3 strikeouts, 1 walk


Hayesville hosts the same Eagles on Thursday, March 28 at 4:30 p.m.
