Shelter updates on trail

The Pisgah Ranger District and its long-standing partner, The Pisgah Conservancy, have begun work on much-needed improvements to trail shelters along the Art Loeb Trail. The first stage of the project, demolition of the dilapidated Butter Gap shelter, has been completed and will be replaced with a new, Adirondack-style shelter which will be easier to maintain.

The project is funded by the Great American Outdoors Act, which prioritizes deferred maintenance projects on federal public lands. Learn morehttps://bit.ly/3V0XPw4
